Changelog
1.53 (24th November 2007)
- Fixes:
-
- Fixed the issue causing iShowU to fail to load on 10.4.8 or earlier. Was due to a project build issue switching from Tiger to Leopard. No code changes were made.
1.52 (12th November 2007)
- Changes:
-
- Added the ability to specify a custom scaling size for captured video.
1.51 (5th November 2007)
- Changes:
-
- Fixed bug whereby hitting the shortcut to record again would corrupt an existing recording if one was in progress.
- Fixed a bug whereby some older migrated preferences wouldn't work (which would cause other things in the UI to fail silently).
1.50 (29th October 2007)
- Changes:
-
- Upgrading from Tiger to Leopard: The temporary storage path is now checked when the preferences are loaded - and reset to a known good temporary location if it doesn't exist. This is an attempt to avoid any "Error 1" messages.
- The menu bar icon has been fixed (it was very wide if you were showing FPS).
- Apple-W can be used to close both Preferences and the About Box now.
1.49 (26th October 2007)
- Changes:
-
- Fixed the broken localizations.
1.48 (26th October 2007)

1.44 (22nd Aug 2007)
- Changes:
-
- Fixed the "preferences update" that executes upon startup. It is now much clearer about what it's doing and also automatically relaunches iShowU for you.
- Fixed the issue with hiding the icon in the dock; which wouldn't work correctly if the application was run by a different user than the one that installed it.
- Updated the "buy" link on the first dialog that pops up to go to the right page on the SWB site.
- Updated the Norwegian localization.
1.43 (2nd Aug 2007)
- New Features:
-
- The red dot to close the window has been enabled.
- Added an option to record at 24p (23.976 frames per second).
- Changes:
-
- Fixed an issue whereby the last few frames of video would not be written out into the final movie.
- Fixed the problem with white frames appearing at the end of the video (more obvious with slower frame rates).
- Fixed UI issues whereby splitter limits (between presets and the settings) were not honored with the default window size.
- Fixed UI issue whereby if the screen was resized and iShowU restarted, the header for the presets table would be out of alignment vertically.
- Now prompts to check for updates on startup, for first time users.
- Fixed a bug whereby iShowU might always ask you to upgrade from an activation to a registration.
- Fixed a couple of memory leaks.
- Updated Polish, Italian, French and Portuguese localizations.
1.42 (10th July 2007)
- New Features:
-
- When setting full screen capture, iShowU will now center the capture rectangle on the screen as long as "follow mouse" is not enabled.
- Split out flushing between frames and high performance capture mode into two separate options. The first can sometimes be useful for those capturing from full screen OpenGL games, the second is useful to get more fps from a capture, but doesn't work on all graphics cards.
- Changes:
-
- The mouse position is now recorded with greater accuracy when using the "with each frame as it is capture" option.
- The iShowU window will correctly pop to the front when recording is aborted, if the "hide when recording" option is activated in preferences.
- Capture rectangle can now be pushed to the top and right hand side of the screen (it used to be a few pixels out).
- By default, iShowU does not use the new high performance OpenGL capture method. You can enable it in preferences. It is known to have issues right now with the Intel GMA950 found in MacBook and Mac Mini machines, if (and only if) you have multiple screens. Works fine for single screen systems.
- Fixed the selection of high performance / normal capture modes (sometimes the right more was not selected in the capture subsystem itself).
- Updated German, Norwegian, Russian and Portuguese localizations.
1.41 (28th June 2007)
- New Features:
-
- Added a countdown before capture - a user specified period of time (per preset) that you can use to "prepare yourself" before the video is recorded.
- Changes:
-
- Complete revamp of activation. Replaced with a more traditional approach. Transition to this new approach is completely automatic - the only time it'll ask you anything is if you don't have administrator rights and you had previously activated for all users. In that case it'll ask you for admin rights to complete the change, but it can all be ignored and done later without affecting your work.
- The check for a reasonably up to date version of QuickTime now works. iShowU will now prompt you to update QT if it thinks the version you have may cause issues while recording.
- Fixed issues related to not being able to record on some systems.
- Fixed the capture rate for 'slow capture rate when not moving mouse'. It was very inaccurate at higher frame rates - e.g: if attempted a slow rate of 30fps - you'd get something in the order of 15fps. Now it's accurate.
1.40 (26th June 2007)
- Changes:
-
- No longer tells the user of the new activation system. Existing Kagi keys continue to work.
1.39 (22nd June 2007)
- Changes:
-
- Fixed the Japanese translation.
- Fixed a bug whereby presets were not being created for new users.
- Fixed crash that occurred if the temporary storage location didn't exist.
1.38 (18th June 2007)
- New Features:
-
- Changed the 'flush' option in preferences to 'Use less aggressive capture method'. There's some known issues with NVIDIA 7300GT cards and OpenGL on the mac that cause some tearing to appear if you have multiple screens. This option enables the previous 1.33 capture code, that while not as efficient works on these cards.
- Changes:
-
- Fixed an issue with the Soundflower installer that prevented it installing anything (hmmm!).
- Updated the Catalan translation.
- Updated the PDF manual that's part of the DMG.
1.37 (15th June 2007)
- Changes:
-
- We have changed activation so that you can activate on up to 5 machines per license purchased.
- Email and password fields now trim whitespace from themselves when used.
- Corrected to use /Users/Shared rather than ~/ based path. Installation on machines with no ~/ folder will now work.
- Updated the Norwegian translation of the Activator.
- Updated the Japanese translation.
1.36 (14th June 2007)
- Changes:
-
- Fixed a problem that would prevent offline activation working.
- Fixed a problem that would prevent secure login working (for activation) if iShowU was placed in a folder with non-ASCII characters in its name.
1.35 (14th June 2007)
- New Features:
-
- Implementation of new activation system and thus a transition from Kagi based registration codes to software that's 'unlocked' using your own account at shinywhitebox.
- Changes:
-
- Fixed permission problems that plagued usage in a multi user install.
- Fixed a bug that could cause a crash (sometimes) if the temporary directory didn't exist.
- Updated Russian, Catalan and German translations
1.34 (24th May 2007)
- New Features:
-
- Simpler! "Ensure capture rectangle is a multiple of 32" option has now been removed from Preferences (iShowU now does "the right thing" all by itself).
- Audio options now changed to include "custom" - which lets you choose any possible audio format that you want (including 48khz, PCM).
- Now works with Leopard (including resolution independence).
- Changes:
-
- Added a preference to set the number of frames used while capturing. iShowU used to use (and will still default to) 3 frames. You can increase this to 10 now - which may help smooth capture in some situations, at the risk of putting a few hundred milliseconds of lag into the movie.
- Added a preference to force OpenGL flushes during capture. This is roughly equivalent to what version 1.33 was doing. Normally it's off as flushes actually put more strain on the OpenGL system - removing them gives more performance in most (nearly all) situations.
- Fixed a bug whereby if you use an external disk or SMB share (windows) as the temporary location, you would sometimes see an error -43 upon trying to record.
- iShowU will now try to output audio to some reasonable default device (some kind of output device, manufactured by Apple) if the default system output is already set to Soundflower (2Ch) when you try to record system audio.
- Fixed the bug with 'record system audio' where you often would not hear audio until you turned off the option, and turned it on again (finally!)
- Performance improvements for high frame rate recording. You will notice a substantial increase in performance when either recording an OpenGL game, or attempting to record full screen.
- Fixed the "skewed video" problem that some people found with previous builds, whereby the resulting video would look somewhat like a snowstorm. This may also fix the "green line" on the right hand side of the video that was also observed by some people.
- Fixed issue whereby system audio playthru would not always work. It often happened when starting iShowU up, and you had to disable the "record system audio" option, and re-enable it.
- Slow and Normal frame rate sliders have changed to drop downs. This is more consistent with the rest of the UI.
- Added a new localization for Hungarian.
- Catalan, Danish, German and Russian localizations updated.
1.33
- Changes:
-
- Fixed a bug whereby recording of video would stop after some time. This affected people differently. Sometimes it would show after a few minutes, sometimes only after 30 minutes.
1.32
- New Features:
-
- The various actions to change the capture area size (1/8, 1/4, full screen etc) now base their sizes of the screen under the mouse (useful if you connect a projector, then suddenly need to resize to the smaller screen space).
- Changes:
-
- Fixed a long standing issue (cheer!) that caused skewed/slanted video on some machines.
- Fixed the bug with crashing at the end of recording sometimes.
- Fixed another bug whereby the sprite track might not record properly all the time (would only happen on fast machines, like the Intels).
- Fixed problem with the quality radio buttons, whereby they were disabled on machines with no microphone inputs, and would not become enabled when "record system audio" was checked.
- Shortcut boxes in Preferences now have "delete" buttons, and correctly detect if you're trying to use a shortcut that is already defined.
- Fixed the capture rectangle handles (they are much easier to click and move now).
- Fixed the annoying behavior whereby if you were fast enough you could move the "edit capture area" rectangle, release the mouse button, attempt to move the rectangle itself (using the hand icon) and end up still moving the last moved rectangle corner).
- Updated French translation.
- Updated Russian translation.
- Updated German translation.
1.31
- Changes:
-
- Fixed capture rectangle "disappearance" when recording.
1.30
- Changes:
-
- Fixed resize behavior of Force mono and 29.97fps options.
1.29
- Changes:
-
- Fixed recording of audio for devices such as the MOTU Ultralite whereby channels above 2 were not being recorded. You can now use the force mono option to mix all the channels into a single mono source
- Changed the "Mono source" option to "Force Mono"
- Made sure that the capture rectangle has a visible color value when transitioning from 1.27 to later releases.
- Fixed bug whereby AAC was not being enabled
1.28
- New Features:
-
- New option to enable 29.97 fps recording (just under the "Normal frame rate" slider).
- New option to center mono microphone sources.
- If you run out of space, iShowU will now correctly stop capturing (while keeping the temporary file) and also (if you want) write a small text file to your desktop recording the problem.
- Now includes an Abort button which discards the current recording. SHIFT clicking the abort button avoids the confirmation dialog.
- Changes:
-
- Fixed bug whereby iShowU wasn't setting the audio volume for the microphone track when it started recording.
- Status panel is no longer hidden if it's automatically shown, in other words it shows itself correctly when you begin to overrun the disk subsystem.
- Capture area is now drawn outside of the actual video capture area (in most situations you no longer see it in the recorded video - note: you may still see it if you are following the mouse, have a high capture rate and move the mouse quickly)
- iShowU now saves its data often, without you having to quit the app.
- Split out the various options into tabs, for the Preferences panel
- The tracking speed of the capture area (when "follow mouse" is enabled) can now be set in Preferences
- You can now set the alpha blend on the capture rectangle color.
- Fixed a bug in "Edit capture area (using hover mode)" with multiple monitor support
- Added some more support options to the Help menu
- Improved the visual indicator of capture area size, in Edit Capture Area mode.
1.27
- Changes:
-
- Fixed non-english language problems that'd cause iShowU to hang and non start on non English platforms
1.26
- New Features:
-
- New "automated support" tool included. It will check that QuickTime is the right version, and also allow you to cleanup (delete) your preferences if you need to.
- Now checked for correct (up to date) version of QuickTime upon startup.
- New 'Unified' look and feel for the user interface.
- You can how hover the mouse over windows while in capture mode to set the capture size.
- Now captures the mouse properly (this feature is only available when using 'with each frame as it is captured' mode). All different types of mouse cursors are now captured, including those from OpenGL games.
- iShowU now automatically tunes its capture speed based on maximum disk throughput. If it does this; it will pop up the status montior with a message to that effect.
- New status monitor - showing various statistics relating to the new processing pipelines.
- Changes:
-
- Fixed bug with multi-threading code, that was causing some crashes for some people.
- New UI is now resizable.
- Fixed "Presets" column heading, it no longer allows resizing.
- Fixed bug where two cursors would be shown when the screen was zoomed in (Ctrl-MouseWheel) while recording.
- Corrected an error whereby frame durations were not written to the correct frame (they were written to the next frame, not the 'current' frame).
- Multithreaded OpenGL has been enabled.
- Video timings have been reworked, so that each frame time is quantized to a proper time within the video timeline.
- The video processing pipeline has been optimized, with buffered disk writes. Grabbing, compression and disk writes now operate completely independently and are all multi threaded.
- Updated the Japanese translation
- Updated the German translation
1.25
- Changes:
-
- Fixed audio sync issues (audio out of sync with video).
- Fixed video speed issues when using PPC machine where sometimes the video would play back extreemely fast.
- The time scale of each movie is now based upon it's frame rate, instead of being fixed at 2997. Therefore a 15fps movie will have a time scale of 1550. This has been changed to aid compatibility with Final Cut Pro.
- Fixed bug where the main window would not come to the front (and be visible) when recording was stopped, and the icon was not being shown in the dock.
- Fixed some audio issues when using 'record system audio' - specifically, the audio was not played back correctly (as in, monitored) when the sample rate of the Soundflower (2ch) was changed. For example: GoogleVideo player changes the sample rate from 41khz to 48khz.
- Fixed problem whereby the reported capture rate was incorrect and also didn't effect the frame grabber rate (when the capture rate is low, the grabber is supposed to slow down).
- Fixed bug where default output device wasn't chosen correctly if you had chosen a specific device for Sound Effects (in system preferences).
- Fixed bug whereby the 'show icon in dock' preference was not re-applied upon an upgrade of iShowU.
1.24
- Changes:
-
- Fixed issue with soundflower installer/uninstaller (broken as of 1.22)
1.23
- Changes:
-
- Fixed issue with video recording, whereby sometimes no video would be recorded at all (you'd just end up with audio tracks).
- Fixed issue with sprite track mouse recording, that caused the video to scale incorrectly.
- Modified registration system to trim whitespace from names, emails + reg codes.
1.22
- New Features:
-
- Added new Logging options under Preferences, with the ability to log only certain output from iShowU
- Changes:
-
- Fixed issue with video recording that caused either a 1s video with two frames, or a super fast video running at about 300fps (affected PPC systems only)
- Fixed bug with H264 capture and pause/resume, which would sometimes cause a crash
1.21
- New Features:
-
- Increased capture speed - 30fps is now possible for most configurations (depends on codec and capture size, as well as the graphics card of the machine). Note: I don't guarantee that 30fps is available for high resolutions or CPU hungry codecs.
- Support for key/non-keyframes. This means that H264 encoded movies are much smaller. As an example, 10s of video at about 800x600 used to take about 4.5Mb. For a recording where you're not moving the mouse - it comes down to about 317Kb. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're capturing.
- "Self tuning" capture performance. iShowU now monitors it's own capture performance. If the effective capture throughput is lower than expected (for example, due to the choice of encoder or system load), it will automatically lower the capture rate so that it doesn't consume graphics resources if the encoder cannot keep up.
- Pause and resume capture - You can now pause while recording, and come back to it later. There are new UI elements on the settings panel (main screen) as well as in the menus and on the status bar menu. You can change the shortcut for pause in preferences.
- Image scaling - You can now specify that the video should be scaled while it's being recorded. Warning: this takes a little more CPU - especially with large capture sizes.
- Time to save the movie has been dramatically decreased. Assuming the file can be moved from temporary store to the selected store - the movie save time will be 'instant'.
- Text-editable capture size - now you can specify the capture size using two edit boxes (good for precise sizing, where you know the resolution)
- Feedback - Status meter (on menu bar) now reports the fps of the frame grabber, as well as the actual fps being encoded. You need to enable this in Preferences.
- Changes
-
- Fixed bug whereby changing the Appearance via System Preferences would cause a crash.
- Added error handling: if there is no disk space to start or continue a movie, a warning is shown and an attempt to close down the movie cleanly is made.
- Fixed bug that prevent the audio quality selection from affecting the audio tracks.
- Both the temporary locations and save locations (specified in Preferences) are now checked before recording starts. If they don't exist, an attempt is made to create them. If this fails, the user is asked to change their preferences. This could cause a crash when iShowU was installed on a new machine.
- Fixed the bug that caused a kernel panic with jnl:transaction too large.
1.20
- New Features:
-
- iShowU can now record system audio.
- Volume controls for the microphone and system audio, so that you can choose your own mix.
- Ability to turn of the capture rectangle while recording
- Audio monitoring for both microphone and system audio so you can listen (or not) as you see fit
- iShowU will install (and if you want, uninstall) Soundflower for you if you don't already have it. You don't need to reboot either!
- You can now set the color of the capture rectangle in preferences.
- Introduced a nice fade effect when turning on or off the "show capture area" option.
- Added built in presets for DV and HDTV.
- Changes
-
- Fixed a hang that would occur if you attempted to register with no username/email, but did enter a code.
- Capture rectangle no longer shown when the demo dialog is first displayed.
- Added a license file to the distribution.
- Added refund/blocked keys mechanism.
1.19
- Fixed crash that occurs when you start iShowU for the first time, with no audio devices present in the system (no input audio devices)
- Added new option to remove the text on the Edit Capture Area overlay
1.18
- Fixed bug whereby capture on secondary monitors didn't capture the right area
- Made sure that when resizing using the ⌘- shortcuts, the new size is a multiple of 32 if that option is enabled in preferences.
- When run on Intel machines, the Preference 'Ensure capture size is a multiple of 32' will automatically be set to YES.
- When resizing the capture rectangle, the bounds are now checked. If the new rectangle (e.g: doing an ⌘-4) would not fit inside the screen area, it will be repositioned so that it does.
- Found the exact cause of the CFDataGetLength /_SGAudioAppendPropertyToNotifyArray crash and fixed it.
- All changes of the 1.17 beta release
1.17 (beta)
- Fixed problem related to the 'temporaryStorage' error dialog that would appear when you closed iShowU. This was actually preventing iShowU from working at all, for new users.
- Fixed crash relating to Audio capture and QuickTime. Some people were seeing crash logs while starting, finishing recording or even quitting iShowU.
- Fixed the logging support - now it works once recording starts. Check your settings - iShowU can produce huge amounts of debug logging when capturing video. You might want to turn it off
1.16
- Updated the Japanese translation.
- Updated the Danish translation.
- Fixed issue where if you edited the capture area, it wouldn't appear at the right place on screen.
- Fixed bug where if you hit escape when editing the capture area, the capture rectangle disappeared.
- Fixed issue with Presets whereby if you upgraded from 1.13 to 1.15 the Record Mouse Cursor option didn't get migrated correctly.
- Added a Quit item to the Status Bar Menu.
- Capture window (the window holding the black border) no longer moves about if the 'always show capture guide' option is disabled. This eliminates some refresh issues while moving the mouse over OpenGL apps while not recording.
- Reverted back to using QuickTime to monitor the audio levels, as a number of issues have been uncovered with the CoreAudio implementation.
1.15
- New icon, better representing what iShowU does best
- Better debugging around the 'start record' function, to aid in finding a problem a couple of users are having
- Updated all .loc files on the website (for translators)
New Features (1.14e)
- Added preference for temporary storage location
- Added extra error handling around the 'stop recording' button
New Features (1.14d)
- New Application Icon
New Features (1.14c)
- Added a Preferences menu item to the Status Bar (seen by troutnc)
New Features (1.14b)
- Fixed the level meter, for devices like the iSight
New Features (1.14)
- Mouse cursor options have changed. You can now
specify Sprite or As frames are captured. There is a new
popup in the UI to specify mouse recording mode.
- New shortcut controls (http://wafflesoftware.net/)
- Added Portugese-Brazil localization (thanks to Fabio
Roselet)
- Added new presets that use AppleAnimation codec
- Greatly improved performance (particularly running on
G4 machines) of the Capture Area Rectangle. This is the
rectangle drawn on screen both before and during the
capture process. On a Mac Mini (G4), it used to take up
to 50% CPU (for a largish rectangle). Now takes under
10%.
- New menus to : Reset presets, Cut preset, Copy
preset, Duplicate Preset
- Important: If you're using an intel mac, set the
capture size to be a multiple of 32. This greatly affects
performance (testing was done on a macbook pro, 15")
- Better feedback for starting/stoping recording of
movie. The feedback is presented in the UI as a progress
indicator underneath the presets table.
- New option in preferences to auto hide the settings
window when capture starts
- Updated the Finish translation
- Changed the capture area rectangle colour to be
slightly lighter
- Capture area now always placed back into visible
space, if the screen orientation changes and the old
capture area would lie outside of the new visible space.
- Improved performance of the Audio Level Meter. It's
now using CGLayer-ing to perform it's drawing. Note that
this does not as yet improve performance of real time
capture - this will come in a later release (this is the
groundwork for some of it however).
- Now correctly identifies the default audio input
device
- Fixed bug whereby you could not record twice in a row
if audio was disabled
- Fixed bug whereby a movie could not be recorded
second time in a row, if you then also turned off 'Record
Audio'.
- Fixed dealloc bug for sprite track
- Slight improvements to capture speed on intel macbook
pro 15" - now uses about 27% CPU instead of 35% if
capturing medium size, 10 fps, with Apple Anination
codec. H264 is still slow as it's not optimized for
intel.
- Fixed bug that would crash iShowU when the frame rate
was changed mid capture
- Fixed bug where the user could changing the preset
selecting mid recording. This is no longer allowed.
- Fixed creation of presets (and reset of presets) so that defaults are a multiple of 32
- Modified the follow mouse behavior. It's must smoother catching up with the mouse now
- Put error handling in, so that if you try to record without permissions, you get an error dialog (rather than silently failing). This was found while attempting to fix a bug whereby movies could not be saved to NFS volumes. I have been able to save movies to NFS volumes after putting this fix in (and fixing my NFS volume permissions)
- Fixed bug where the capture rectangle would not stop at the RHS, or bottom of screen
- Increased the performance of the audio level meter - this was hogging a bit of CPU
1.13
- Updated Japanese translation
- Updated French translation
1.12
- Fixed layout issue with Japanese translation
- Updated Japanese translation
- Updated Danish translation
- Updated Italian translation
- Fixed possible bug whereby a corrupted settings file would cause iShowU to crash upon launch (the error log would indicate a crash in DigitizerController setupMenuItem:combo:)
1.11
- Fixed bad UI resources for all translations
- Fixed issue with menus not working if not registered
1.10
- Registration system is now live
- Replaced AquaticPrime with the Kagi registration system
- Fixed the level meter, so that peek fades off nicely.
- Reduced startup time
- Minor tweaks to UI
- Fixed issue where prefs would sometimes not save correctly
- Fixed crash when clicking on a preset during recording
1.9
- Fixed issues with incorrect tool tips in preferences
1.8
- Keyframes option hidden until it's implemented (after the first real release)
- Changed the default behavior of ‘hide on deactivate’
so that it can be specified by the user (it is now an
option in preferences)
- Implemented the ‘don’t show dock icon’ preference
- Changed the status bar icon. Also added a status bar
menu, to start/stop recording.
- Implemented the preference to show/hide the recording
status in the status bar.
- Added the Italian translation
- Added a registration/license system (Aquatic)
- Added built in software update check
(Sparkle)
- Fixed: When in dual screen mode, if the secondary screen is to the left, iShowU doesn’t see this sometimes. If you go to system prefs, and nudge the screen a little, it’ll refresh and then is OK (it captures OK, and the edit capture screen fixes itself)
1.1g
- Fixed issue where frames from the last capture were
put onto the start of the next movie.
- You can now constrain the movie size to be a multiple
of 32 - which is the most efficient setting. This is not
the default setting, but can be chosen in preferences.
- The option to not use the slow capture mode now
implies that the capture rectangle does not stop moving
if it catches up with the mouse. It is always smooth now.
- The default settings (when you start iShowU for the first time) disable the slow capture rate option. This option is an optimization only, so I think it’s better to let the user
- choose to use it, rather than force it upon them.
- Fixed: Moving the mouse cursor out of the screen
while editing the capture area (and moving the capture
area), the capture area moves even though the mouse does
not.
- Fixed: Temp files are not cleaned up if you Apple-Q
without stopping the recording
- Fixed: Option to turn off capture rectangle when app
looses focus but is not recording (this was done some
time back, just moving it from the Known Issues page)
- Fixed: Pressing Enter does not close the custom
capture area (but RETURN does)
- Added translations (mostly complete, not 100%) - Spanish, Finnish, Japanese and Chinese.
1.1f
- Possible fix for immediate crash bug (turned out to not be a fix after all)
1.1e
- The “don’t record audio” option now takes effect
1.1d
- Fixed sliders going really slowly
- Added a capture rectangle size to the ‘Edit capture
area’ window
- Fixed small issue whereby capture are would grow by one pixel every time you edited the capture area.
1.1c
- Multiple screen support
- Fixed preference for logging not being defaulted
correctly
- Fixed blue tint on Intel machines (sorry ‘bout that!)
1.1b
- The sample rectangle no longer appears in the
recorded video.
- Renamed the min slider to ‘slow capture’ and the max
to ‘normal’ to better reflect what they are for
- Made slow capture optional.
- Fixed a number of UI issues
- Did a better job of laying out the preferences
- Added a preference to enable/disable logging to
console
- Added a keyframes preference, so that you can set the
rate at which keyframes are inserted into the video (this
can reduce video size)
- Ensure gain on audio is set to zero in preview mode (not recording), so that there is no feedback if speakers are close to the input source
1.1a
- Added presets
- Fixed bug with jumpy video capture
- Recording sound is now optional
1.0f
- Fixed bug where video was only captured at a max of 15fps. Fixed frame skip issue whereby sometimes you’d see frames of a second or so ago (the video would jump a bit).
1.0e
- Does not start on systems that don’t have an internal microphone (it just bounces in the dock, then goes away). An excellent example is a mac mini.
1.0d
- Some sound devices won’t work (Logitec USB in particular). If you’ve got this problem, please report it, along with the error details. Find out how to do that here. (USB audio presents itself as two devices. Store the deviceUID with the name, use that.)
